Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 Index Join Dow Industrials Above 50-Day AveragesPICTURED BELOW: The S&P 500 Index’s gain on lighter volume than the prior session (not plotted on the above graph) helped it close above its 50-day moving average (DMA) line on Monday. This marked its first close above that important short-term average since December 26, 2007. The major averages surged on Monday as traders returned from a long holiday weekend.
